Finding Time to Get Fit
Statistics from the U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services indicate that more than 50% of Americans do not get
the recommended amount of physical activity, while 25% get almost no exercise
at all. We may have good intentions of exercising during the day, but when
our schedules are busy, exercise can fall by the wayside. According to scientific studies, there are
important benefits to exercising at least an hour every day. Not everyone has
an hour to devote to exercise at one time, but breaking it down to smaller
increments is something everyone can do. Exercise is cumulative. It all adds up at
the end of the day, and anything that gets your body moving, counts. Park
your vehicle further away from your destination. Take walking breaks, and when
possible, choose the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator. Schedule
some activity during lunchtime. Many exercises can be done in an office.
Bands, mats, and tubing are all lightweight, take up little space, and can be
taken out at a moment’s notice. Exercise not only boosts immunity, it
lowers stress levels, and increases energy. If you don’t think you have time
to exercise, a good personal trainer can show you ways to fit exercise in
your day. Take time to get fit! Contact
